The 'Love On Top' star names the Bee Gees as a big inspiration for Destiny's Child when they first started out.
Beyonce has paid tribute to Bee Gees star Robin Gibb, who died at the age of 62 last Sunday (20th May).
The 'Countdown' singer describes the popular disco trio as an "early inspiration" for Destiny's Child, as well as sending her condolences to Robin's family following news of his passing last week.
"The Bee Gees were an early inspiration for me, Kelly and Michelle," Beyonce posted on her official website this week. "We loved their songwriting and beautiful harmonies.
"Recording their classic song, 'Emotion', was a special time for Destiny's Child," the '4' singer continued. "Sadly we lost Robin Gibb this week."
Beyonce added: "My heart goes out to his brother Barry and the rest of his family."
Destiny's child released the Bee Gees song 'Emotion', originally recorded by Samantha Sang, back in 2001 as a single from their album 'Survivor'.
The 'Love On Top' singer scored a total of six nominations for this year's BET Awards, including Best Female R&B Artist and Viewer's Choice, which takes place this July.
Beyonce is set to make her live return after welcoming daughter Blue Ivy back in January, at a series of shows at Atlantic City's Revel hotel starting Saturday 26th May.
