The 'Countdown' star says she struggled to lose weight in time for her return to the stage in 2012.
Beyonce has opened up about her weight loss after giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy last year, which saw her shifting 57 pounds to get ready for her return to the stage.
The 'Love On Top' singer admits she is not "naturally very thin', and had to work very hard to get her body ready for a show just 12 weeks after becoming a mum for the first time.
"I didn't have a lot of time to lose the weight because I scheduled a show three months after I gave birth, which I would never do again," Beyonce reveals, in the April issue of Shape magazine.
"I'm not a person that is naturally very thin," the 'Countdown' singer explained. "I am a person that has to work at keeping my body in shape."
US superstar Beyonce also gave some advice to her fans about having a healthy body image as well as staying in shape.

"I would just say, everyone is not supposed to be the same," she added. "Be healthy and take care of yourself, but be happy with the beautiful things that make you, you."
This week saw the revelation that private financial information about Beyonce and Jay-Z had been leaked online by hackers, who are now being investigate by the LAPD.
Beyonce is now preparing to launch her 'Mrs. Carter Show' world tour next month, while a new album announcement is expected sometime in the coming weeks.
