The 'Girl On Fire' opens the NFL event with a crowd pleasing rendition of 'The Star Spangled Banner'.
Alicia Keys brought a triumphant start to the NFL Super Bowl XLVII as she performed the US National Anthem inside the New Orleans Mercedes-Benz Superdome tonight (3rd January).
The 'Empire State Of Mind' singer took in a deep breath as the thousands in attendance fell silent for the start of her performance.
Sat at a white piano in the centre of the field, Alicia led the entire American nation through 'The Star Spangled Banner', which drew huge cheers throughout.
The audience also erupted into joyful noise as footage was shown from troops in Afghanistan as well as various locations in the US.
The 'Fallin'' singer took to the field shortly after Jennifer Hudson performed with a children's choir from Sandy Hook Elementary School as they gave a tear-jerking rendition of 'America The Beautiful'.
Meanwhile, Beyonce is set to take to the stage for the halftime show of the Super Bowl, where she is expected to be joined by her Destiny's Child bandmates.
During a press conference for the event she hit back at critics of her Barack Obama Inauguration performance of the US National Anthem and assured fans her halftime show would be completely live.
