The 'Someone Like You' singer spills the beans on her song-writing secrets.
Adele has confessed to finding inspiration for her music in a diary she kept when drunk.
"I used to have to lock myself away in my house, get pretty drunk and write a drunk diary," Adele shared.
"And that was the first time I could admit things to myself.
"A drunk tongue is an honest one in my opinion and the next morning I would read it through with an awful hangover and, in the cold light of day, had to absorb my feelings about myself."
Adele reckons the lyrics on '21' are more personal and heartfelt than those on her debut release, which could be part of the success behind the record-breaking album.
"I started realising my own flaws and my disappointments," the singer told The Sun.
"I started regretting a lot of stuff. It was quite an awakening."
