Adele, Katy B And Tinie Tempah Miss Out On Mercury Prize

The prestigious prize makes history as it is bagged a second time by PJ Harvey.

Adele, Katy B and Tinie Tempah all missed out on the Mercury Prize, despite Adele's '21' album breaking a whole bunch of records.

Adele was due to perform at the Mercury Prize bash but, after cancelling the first couple of dates of her UK tour due to a cold, she had to cancel that too.

"I'm gutted," Adele told The Sun.

"I feel really ill, I'm trying not to pass on the germs to anyone.

"I really wanted to sing but I can't hit any of the high notes."

Adele and Tinie Tempah may have lost out on the award, but they're planning an award winning collaboration single for Tinie's new album.

And it wasn't all bad news for Tinie Tempah who picked up the gong for best Solo Artist at the GQ Awards.
