The 'Rolling in the Deep' singer has refuted claims she is set to perform on the ITV1 show in December.

Adele has denied claims she will perform on the live final of The X Factor next month (11th December).

Earlier today it was reported the 'Someone Like You' singer would still honour a deal to sing alongside one of the show's three finalists despite undergoing surgery to repair her vocal chords at the end of October.

However, Adele's spokesperson has now told The Telegraph the widely rumoured performance is simply "not going to happen".

Adele posted an update on her condition earlier this month where she informed fans she is "on the mend" and feeling "positive" about her recovery.

The 'Set Fire To The Rain' singer was forced to cancel autumn tour dates in the US and the UK to allow adequate time to recover from her surgery.

Adele was presented with three awards at the American Music Awards 2011 on Sunday (20th November), where she walked away with Favourite Artist in Adult Contemporary, Favourite Female Artist in Pop/Rock and Favourite Album in Pop/rock for her current LP '21'.
