Adele Wins Best British Album At BRIT Awards 2012

The 'Rolling In The Deep' singer was notably cut off during her acceptance speech at London's O2 Arena.

Adele picked up the award for Best British Album at the BRIT Awards 2012 tonight (21st February), although the 'Someone Like You' singer was cut off during her speech because of Blur's closing performance.

The 'Set Fire To The Rain' singer won the award over fellow nominees Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Florence and the Machine and PJ Harvey, and accepted the award in person at London's O2 Arena.

"Thank you so much," Adele said while accepting the award on stage from George Michael. "I'm so proud to be British and to be flying our flag and to be in the room with all of you."

However host James Cordon was forced to cut the 'Someone Like You' singer off due to time constraints, as Blur were due on stage for their event closing medley after winning Outstanding Contribution To Music earlier in the night.

Adele quickly added: "Goodbye and I'll see you next time round yeah!"

The 'Rolling In the Deep' singer also picked up Best British Female at tonight's ceremony and made her UK live return at the event with her first performance since laser throat surgery last year.
