Three injured in Leeds police pursuit

Three people have been injured, two seriously after a car being followed by police crashed into a taxi. West Yorkshire Police say a patrol car had been following a Corsa on the A64 in Leeds at about 4.30 Friday morning, but the chase was called off after the Corsa started travelling the wrong way down the road and hit a taxi.

Two people in the Corsa suffered serious head and spinal injuries, while the taxi driver suffered a broken leg.

The incident is the latest involving police pursuits. There have been two fatal pursuits in West Yorkshire since Sunday.
