Teenager Remanded In Custody over Stokesley Death

A 17-year-old boy is in custody charged with manslaughter after a teenager dies in Stokesley.

North Yorkshire Police were called to Stokesley High Street in the early hours of Saturday morning after reports that a man had been seriously assaulted outside College Pizzas in College Square.

The 17 year old victim, from Stokesley suffered a head injury in the incident and was taken to James Cook hospital for treatment, but never recovered from his injuries. He was pronounced dead at 2.50am.

A 17 year old, who we can't name, has been charged with manslaughter and appeared in court today. He was remanded in custody.

A 25-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl, both from Middlesborough, and a 17-year-old boy from Guisborough, have all been released on conditional police bail as enquiries into the incident continue.
