Detectives investigating the shooting of a 31-year-old man outside a pub in Leeds have released CCTV images of the man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

It all happened just before 11pm on Thursday the 15th of September outside the Kiln on Brignall Garth in the Burmantofts area.

Officers found the victim a short distance away from the pub with a single gunshot wound to his back.
He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The footage shows the suspect, who is wearing a dark coloured top with the hood up, grey bottoms, and carrying a green coloured bag, fire the gun and initially miss the suspect and a number of other people in the area just outside the pub.

The victim, who is wearing a red t-shirt, runs out of shot he is chased by the suspect who then discharges the firearm for the second time shooting the victim in the back.

Detective Superintendent Paul Taylor, from the Force's Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: "As you can see from the footage there were a lot of people stood in the grounds of the Kiln when the initial shot was discharged.  As I understand it many of those had been to earlier boxing contest at the nearby Irish Centre and I would ask those people to get in touch with us and tell us what happened.  We have received an anonymous call from someone suggesting the reasons behind this incident and I would urge that person to ring back. They should be reassured that all information is treated in the strictest confidence.  It is only by sheer chance that further people were not injured or killed given the indiscriminate way in which the firearm was discharged in the middle of a crowd of people who were enjoying a night out."
