Man Charged Over Sheffield Shooting

A man has been charged with murder of Deeq Ali who was shot in Sheffield last weekend.

24-year-old Abdi Mohammed Omar from Burngreave, will appear at Sheffield Magistrates Court this morning (Wednesday, 2 November).

Deeq Ali, 18, died from a gunshot wound after an incident at a function room on Spital Hill, Sheffield, at around 2.30am on Sunday, 30 October.

Two other people arrested in connection with the incident have now been released on bail.

Officers are urging anyone who was in the Spital Hill Plaza and Function Room or in the Spital Hill area between 8pm Saturday evening and 3am Sunday morning to contact South Yorkshire Police on 0114 2202020 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
