Leeds Man In Court Over Double Death Crash

A leeds man is due in court today charged with causing the death of two people by dangerous driving.

26-year-old Eduard Mereohra, from Burley in Leeds, appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court charged with causing death by dangerous driving. 

He was remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Crown Court on January 10.

He was arrested following a collision between a Volvo C70 and a Fiat Punto on Stanningley Bypass on new years day.

68-year-old David Metcalf and his wife Dorothy, aged 65 from Tinshill in Leeds, were both in the Fiat and died of their injuries.
