The Italian parliament has named a cross-party committee set up to tackle intolerance and hate crime after Jo Cox.
Commons Speaker John Bercow told MPs he received a letter from the President of the Chamber of Deputies Laura Boldrini telling him that the group will be called the Cox Committee.
Ms Cox, the late MP for Batley and Spen, died on June 16 after being shot and stabbed outside a library in Birstall.
Mr Bercow paid tribute to the victims of the terror attack in Nice, France before informing the House of the letter from Ms Boldrini.
Speaking before the start of Communities Questions he said: ``I should also like to inform the House that I have received a letter from the President of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy telling me that her chamber has established a cross-party committee on intolerance, xenophobia, racism and hate crime and have decided to name it the Cox Committee after our colleague Jo Cox.
"In the President's words, and I quote, 'through this act we will contribute to keeping the memory of Jo Cox and of what she stood for alive'.''
The Italian Parliament consists of two houses: the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Republic.
