Man Charged With Assault Of Rotherham Taxi Driver

Police in Rotherham have charged a 22-year-old local man in connection with an assault of a 40-year-old man at the weekend.

Jordan James, from East Herringthorpe, has been remanded in custody to appear before Rotherham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 8 October.

He's been charged with Section 18 assault.

Police were called at around 3.10am on Saturday 3 October following reports a 40-year-old taxi driver had been seriously assaulted in Campbell Drive, Herringthorpe.

The man remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Three men, aged 25, 21 and 20-years-old, remain on police bail in connection with the incident.
