RULES
 The following rules (“Rules”) together with Global Radio’s ("Global Radio") general and competition terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) which can be found at http://www.capitalfm.com/terms-conditions/competition/
http://www.capitalxtra.com/competition-terms-and-conditions/ apply to ‘LifeSkills created with Barclays’ radio competition ("the Competition") which will run from 00:01 on Monday 21st July 2014 to 23:59 on Sunday 27th July 2014 (“the Duration”).  The "Radio Station" is Capital Network and Capital XTRA.

Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have understood these Rules along with the Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them.  The Terms and Conditions are available on request from theRadio Station.

Details of the Competition:
To enter the Competition an Entrant must:

Go online to www.capitalfm.com or www.capitalxtra.com and register their details.  Online entry will open at 00:01 on Monday 21th July 2014 and close at 23:59 on Sunday 27h July 2014. Entries made after this time will not be included in the Competition.

Entrants will be asked to submit a ‘selfie’ or tell us the LifeSkill they would like to learn (each a “Material”). Materials will be submitted via www.capitalfm.com or www.capitalxtra.com.

One winner will be selected at random on 28th July 2014 from all eligible Entrants and notified by 29th July 2014.

By submitting an image to the site www.capitalfm.com or www.capitalxtra.com to the Radio Station you: (i) warrant that you control all copyright and all other rights (including, without limitation, performers’ rights) in and to such image; and (ii) confirm the grant by you to the Radio Station [and Global Radio] of a worldwide, perpetual, royalty free license in the copyright and all other rights in and to the image (including, without limitation, performers’ rights) and you waive any moral rights and like rights you have in relation to the image; so that the Radio Station [and Global Radio] shall be entitled to use the image in any and all media at no cost to the Radio Station [and Global Radio] and such use shall not infringe the rights of any third party.

Any Material deemed inappropriate, incomplete, incorrect or unsuitable, in the Promoter's sole discretion, will be disqualified from the Competition. Global Radio will moderate all images.  Inappropriate and unsuitable materialincludes, but is not limited to:
 
·       pornographic or "off-colour" Material,
·       political content or propaganda,
·       obscene, sexual, profane, lewd, or otherwise offensive Material,
·       nudity,
·       music of any kind,
·       car license plates, phone numbers or personal addresses,
·       website or web page links,
·       derogatory characterizations of any ethnic, racial, sexual or religious groups,
·     any third party materials that may otherwise violate or infringe (or may infringe) copyright, trademark, logo, mark that identifies a brand or other proprietary right of any person living or deceased (including but not limited to rights of privacy or publicity or portrayal in a false light) or entity, or is otherwise objectionable,
·       any Material that infringes or violates someone else's rights or the law,
·       any content or performance that has been broadcast or streamed, published or televised on television or as part of a recording of a motion picture film or television programme,
·       Material that is not of satisfactory quality (i.e. brightness, focus, volume) to be streamed online,
·       Material defaming or invading publicity rights or privacy rights of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringing upon any person's personal or proprietary rights,
·       Material containing Adverse Events regarding use of the Promoter's, or its Affiliates' products, drugs, or devices (Adverse Events means any unexpected or unfavourable symptoms associated with the administration or use of a product, including overdose, abuse/misuse of a product, withdrawal symptoms or lack of efficacy),
·       Material containing off-label use of the Promoter's or its affiliated companies' products, drugs or devices,
·       Material which shows clothing or other objects showing visible logos, drawings, cartoons, phrases, trademarks or other third-party materials,
·       Material which does not comply with the competition theme.
 
Eligibility:
The Competition is open to United Kingdom residents aged between 14-19 years of age at the time of entry.
Entrants under 18 years of age at the time of entry will need their parents or guardian’s permission to participate in the Competition.
Any entrant at school, college, further education will need written permission from their Head Teacher/Deputy Head Teacher allowing absence from school to take part in the work experience from Tuesday 5th August – Saturday 9th August 2014.
If permission is not granted by the winners school/LEA within 48 hours of being contacted by the Promoter the winner has the right to substitute their prize. If permission cannot be produced Barclays will offer a prize of a similar value of educational benefit suitable for their age. The Promoter reserves the right to then contact another winner to undertake the work experience prize & receive the iPad mini'.
If the winner is under 18 years old they will have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times of the work experience.
Entry is restricted to one entry per person. Lost, delayed, incomplete or duplicate entries will not be entered into the Competition.

Prize:
The competition winner will receive work experience organised by Base79 (the “Prize”) who will take responsibility of fulfilling the Prize. Base79 will contact the
winner via phone or email within 48 hours once a representative from Capital FM or Capital XTRA has made contact with the winner.
Work Experience Prize Details as listed below:
·       The winner will take part in 5 days work experience in London with Doug A from Tuesday 5th August to Saturday 9th August 2014.
  Meeting Doug A and attending a meeting to establish the weekly tasks throughout the week.
    Working in Base 79 offices helping contacting ‘Summer in the City’ and making arrangements for Doug A involvement in the show.
   Organising interviews with everyone who will be attending ‘Summer in the City’ (which will be used on Doug A’s channel).
    Working on-site at the ‘Summer in the City’ Event
  The winner may also be required to be interviewed about their experience following the work placement.
 
·       Work experience hours will be between10am – 4pm daily between Tuesday 5th – Friday 8th August 2014. On Saturday 9th August 2014 work experience hours will be 11am – 6pm.
 Travel and accommodation (to be organized and provided by Base 79):
a.     Return standard economy train travel for winner and parent or guardian from their nearest train station to the winner to London.
b.     Return private transfersfrom the station to the hotel & 5 night’s accommodation in a Hotel in London. Accommodation will be a minimum of a 3* hotel and a twin room will be provided. Breakfast will be included.
c.     Base 79 to organize transfers to the site of the work experience each day.
d.     £25 towards food expenses will be provided for the winner each day of the work experience.
·       Each winner will receive an iPad Mini from Capital FM or Capital Xtra on behalf of   Barclays LifeSkills to be delivered to the winner within 28 days of winning.
·       Apple iPad Mini 16GB Wi-Fi in White/Silver.  Features include:
o    7.9-inch retina display
o    A5 chip
o    Over 475,000 apps on the App Store
o    iSight and FaceTime HD cameras
·       The Prize has no cash equivalent, and no alternatives will be offered. The Prize and participation in the Competition cannot be exchanged or transferred. However, in the event that the Prizes offered are unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control, the Promoter reserves the right to offer alternative prizes of equal or greater value.
 
·       The Promoter’s selection of the winner is final. The name and county of the winner will be made available to anyone sending a stamped, addressed envelope to Lifeskills created with Barclays Competition, 30 Leicester Square, London WC2H 7LA. No other correspondence will be entered into.
 
·       The Promoter reserves the right to publish names, photographs and county of the winner or to publicize the Prize-giving presentation after the date of the Competition.
Liability:
·       To the extent permitted by law, neither Global Radio nor Barclays will be liable for any loss, damage, injury or disappointment suffered in connection with the Competition or any delays or failure (in whole or in part) to perform any of its obligations if such delay or failure is caused by something beyond its reasonable control.
·       The Competition is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Apple Inc. You agree to release Apple Inc from any liability associated with this Competition.
Personal Information:
·       Global Radio and Barclays (as appropriate) will only collect, store and use your personal information, such as name, age, telephone number and email address for the purposes of entering you into and administering the Competition as set out in these rules, and not for any other purpose without your consent. This will not affect any existing marketing preferences that you have registered with Barclays.
 
·       By entering the Competition, you consent that your personal information may be transferred to our service providers and agents (including their sub-contractors) to store and use as necessary to administer the Competition. We will never pass your information to any third party for them to use in their own direct marketing, without your consent. 
 
·       Your personal information will be held on record for a short period of time as necessary to administer the Competition and then securely destroyed. 
General:
 
·       Owing to exceptional circumstances outside its reasonable control, Global Radio may choose to withdraw or amend the Competition.
 
·       By submitting an entry, you warrant that all information submitted as part of the entry is true, current and complete. The Promoter reserves the right to verify all entries.
 
·       These rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising in respect of this Competition.
