Police in Bridgend want anybody who saw some suspicious activity on Monday evening to come forward.

Officers received a call from a concerned member of the public, who reported seeing woman being forced in to a van against her will, at approximately 5.45pm on Monday 12th June, in the vicinity of the traffic lights on the crossroads at Bryntirion Hill, Bridgend.

The caller, who was driving in the direction of Laleston, reported seeing a woman get out of a white Transit van, before being chased by a man. There was reportedly a struggle before she was forced back in to the vehicle.

The van - which is believed to have a partial registration of CV07 - then drove off, turning right towards Bryntirion.

The woman is described as white, approximately 14-15st, with blonde hair which was tied back. She was wearing a bright patterned top.

The man, who was driving the vehicle, is described as tanned, approximately 5ft 7in, chubby build, with blonde shaved hair. He was wearing a yellow high-vis jacket.

Detective Chief Inspector Dinlle Francis said:

"Given the time and location of this incident, it is highly likely that there were other witnesses. I would anyone who believes they saw any or all of this incident taking place, to get in touch. Their information could be crucial to this investigation

"I would also appeal to the man or woman concerned, if they recognise themselves in the description, to make contact with us to confirm they are safe and well."

Anyone with information is urged to contact 101, quoting reference 1700225484.
