Violent Robbery On Delivery Driver

Police are looking for a man in connection with a violent robbery in Southampton.

A 26-year-old man who works for a 24-hour alcohol delivery service in the city was delivering an order to an address in Shirley Towers, Milner Court when he was robbed.

He was waiting in his car for the customer to collect the items at around 1.30am on Thursday, April 28 when two men came up to his vehicle.

One grabbed the car keys and the other started smashing the windows with a hammer. He was punched and threatened.

The robbers stole the alcohol worth around £80 plus his cash float and mobile phone and car keys.

Both men were white. One of them was wearing a black top and was aged around 30 and the other was wearing a red t-shirt was aged in his 30s, 5ft 8 inches tall, big build and slightly chubby, wearing a white baseball cap, bright coloured
knee length shorts, trainers.

Officers have now released CCTV stills of the suspect in the red-top. They are asking for anyone who can identify him or has any information about the crime to contact them.

The victim was left shaken but was no lasting injuries from his ordeal.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the offence and has since been released on police bail until June 21 while enquiries continue.
