Violent Disorder in Southampton

Two men have been arrested after a big fight in Southampton over the bank holiday.

Police are appealing for information following the fight in which a man sustained a broken kneecap.

It happened at about 7pm on Saturday night near to the junction of St Mary's Road and Onslow Road, involving a large group of men.

The victim, a 39-year-old Southampton man, was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery on his knee.

A 25-year-old man and a 29-year-old man, both from Southampton, were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. They remain in police custody at this time.

Police are now appealing for information to identify the cause of the fight and the others involved.
