Vicious Attack On Portsmouth Man

A 44-year-old man has been left with a broken nose and stitches after being attacked outside a pub in Portsmouth.

It happened opposite the Electric Arms pub in Fratton Road sometime between 11.40pm and midnight on Thursday, June 2.

The man also suffered two cuts to his upper lip, plus swelling and grazes to his forehead. He lost consciousness during the attack.

He was taken to hospital but his injuries are not life threatening.

The suspect was described as:

- White man

- Stocky build

- 5 ft 8 ins tall

- Brown hair

- He was wearing a white t-shirt with the number '10' on the back and blue jeans.

Investigating officer PC Michael Nol of Portsmouth's Targeted Patrol Teams (TPT) said:

"This was a violent, unprovoked attack on a member of public walking back to his house.

"It occurred in a built-up area at a time when there were still lots of people in the street who may have witnessed what happened. Other enquiries in the local community are also continuing."
