Two Charged After Drug Raids

Two men have been charged after drug raids in Southampton and the New Forest.

The warrants were co-ordinated on Wednesday 26 June in Southampton, Lyndhurst, Winsor and Calmore as part of
Operation Fortress, the campaign to reduce the harm of drug-related violence.

Gary Whetren, 23, of Manor Road, New Milton, is accused of possessing cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply. He was remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court this morning (Thursday 27 June).  

Mark Hayward, 27, of Winsor Road, Winsor, is accused of possessing cocaine and cannabis. He was bailed to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court on 22 July.

A second 27-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, was bailed until 16 September pending further police enquiries.

A 22-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply was bailed until 27 August.
