Teen Punched And Robbed In Southampton

A teenager's been robbed as he walked back to his moped in Southampton.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the 16-year-old boy was attacked and robbed on Tuesday, April 5.

It happened between 8.45pm and 9.15pm on Queensway in the city centre. A youth, thought to be in his late teens, approached him and punched him to the head a number of times. He then dragged the boy to the ground and kicked and stamped on him and demanded his money.

He then went through the victims pockets and made off with his wallet and Blackberry mobile phone.

The robber is described as white, aged 16 to 20, around 5ft 8 inches tall and wearing a dark gray tracksuit and a neck warmer/snood

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the robbery or the offender in the area. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call PC Patrick Young Southampton Central Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
