Students Attacked By Armed Men

Police in Southampton are investigating after four students were assaulted in their Newcombe Road home.

At around 6.50pm on Friday 25 January one of the residents answered a call at the door and was confronted by three men armed with a baseball bat, a hammer and a crow bar.  They demanded that the occupants hand over their money.

Three of the students suffered injuries to their heads and bodies and one a suspected broken arm.  Another had a broken nose and fractured bones in his hand.  They were all taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment. The fourth student sustained a black eye which was treated at the scene by paramedics.

They described their attackers as:

Offender One:
White
6ft 3ins – 6ft 4ins tall.
Aged in his 20’s
Shaggy dark brown hair
He was wearing a black hoodie and trousers with the hood up and scarf over his face and black Air Force 1 trainers.
The bat he used was mainly silver and smaller than average, could possibly be a softball bat.

Offender Two:
White but tanned male.
5ft 10ins tall.
Aged 26-35 years..
Hazel eyes.
Stocky build with large belly
He was wearing a Puffa jacket, dark red and black woolly hat, brown scarf, dark grey hoodie and blue jeans

Offender Three:
Asian male.
6ft tall.
Aged 25-35 years
Athletic build
He was wearing a black woolly hat, black scarf and a dark grey hoodie

Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened or saw the offenders making good their escape, or from anyone who has information to help identify the three men.
