Southampton Teenagers Robbed

In the first incident an 18 year old student was robbed while walking home from a night out in the city. It happened at around 1.55am on Friday, January 15th.
As he walked past Chantry Halls, the student became aware that he was being followed by three Asian men. As he approached Chantry footbridge, one of the men pushed him, while another kicked him over. His Blackberry mobile phone, valued at £200, was then taken out of his pocket, and the men then ran off.
The student suffered cuts to his elbow as he fell but did not require hospital treatment.
The robbers are described as:
Asian origin
Aged 24-29 years old
All were wearing dark hooded tracksuits
PC Paul Holmes who is leading the investigation said:
“The suspects targeted a lone person walking home late at night along a route frequently used by students. The student shouted loudly for help and may well have alerted residents in the area. The suspects ran off along the new pathway that runs along the grass area behind the flats and houses on Ted Bates Road and Anglesea Terrace, in the direction of Chapel Road.
“I would appeal to anyone who heard or saw something in the area at that time or saw the three Asian men in the locality to contact me.”

The second robbery, which police aren’t linking to the first, happened near Southampton railway station in Blechyden Terrace between 8.30 and 9.30pm on Monday, January 17th.
Two 16 year old youths were walking towards the train station along Blechyden Terrace when they were approached by a group of around five male youths and one female. Some of the group said “give us some money or a fag”. When the youths stated they had none, they were threatened with what appeared to be a concealed weapon.
The group then started to attack the two youths. One was punched several times in the face. He managed to run off to a nearby park where members of the group pursued him, punching him to the ground and kicked him. While on the ground they searched his pockets, removing his red wallet which had skull and crossbones on it, plus keys and a Samsung mobile phone.
The other youth was assaulted by the remainder of the group who punched him to the ground and kicked him in the face and shoulder, although no attempt was made to steal anything from him. Both youths sustained cuts to their face and other parts of their body.
The assailants are described as:
White
Aged 13-16 years old
Between 5ft 4ins to 5ft 7ins tall
One had short ‘spiked up’ black hair with a fringe and was wearing a black hoody,
Another was wearing a grey hoody
Another was wearing a black peaked cap but not a base ball cap and a black hoody
The female was:
White
She had long curly blonde hair down to mid chest level
Average build
She was wearing a long-sleeved light coloured ‘fluffy jacket’
Investigating officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area between 8pm and 9.30pm who may have seen any part of the incident or the group of youths before or after the robbery took place.
The two youths stated that two separate silver cars slowed and saw parts of the incident and officers are particularly keen to trace and speak to the occupants of these two vehicles as they may hold vital information.
