Police at Southampton are appealing for information after a burglar took valuable camera equipment, iPods and a car from a student house on Harborough Road, the Polygon.

Between 5am and noon Wednesday, October 10, a thief entered the property through an insecure front door while eight of the 10 occupants were at the rear of the house.

The burglar went into one bedroom and took a black iPod Touch, a black iPod Classic and a variety of photographic equipment.

This included:

-a black Cannon AE-1 35mm SLR

-a Cannon 50 Mark II

-a XOUGNU shutter control

-a fish eye lens

-a silver 35mm Olympus

-a Cannon camera bag.

The burglar also took a set of car keys, which were used to enter and drive away a blue Skoda Fabia Ambiente with the registration SA56 ZFW.

The car contained a Tom Tom sat nav, CDs and a portfolio of photographic course work belonging to a 22-year-old  woman student.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who saw someone leaving a property on Harborough Road and driving off in the Skoda.

They also would like to hear from anyone who is offered property similar to that which was stolen or who finds the portfolio with photographs of chopping boards and surgical implements.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Andy Pollock at Shirley CID on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity line on 0800 555 111.
