The south coast will stop again today (Monday 11 November) to remember our war dead.

There will be a parade by veterans in Portsmouth, ahead of other Armistice Day ceremonies across Hampshire and Dorset, and a two minutes' silence observed across the whole country at 11am.

The Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth will also be lit up red today.

On Remembrance Sunday yesterday, Portsmouth's annual service of remembrance took place in the Guildhall Square.

Serving military personnel and members of ex-service groups paraded on to the square at 10.30am. The Royal Marines Band led the parade of serving military personnel, including representatives from Portsmouth Sea cadets, Air Training Corps, Territorial Army and the Army Cadet Force.

A gun from HMS Nelson fired at 11am to start the official two-minute silence and again at the end.

A Remembrance Service was also held at the Cenotaph in Southampton, with a parade and wreath-laying.

There was also a parade in Eastleigh and wreaths laid at Cenotaphs across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
