South Coast Record Breakers!

The latest edition of the Guinness World Records book is published today (13th September), including several record breakers from the South Coast.

Portsmouth now boasts the world’s largest tea bag. Capable of producing over 50,000 cups of tea, it weighs 120 kg (264 lb 8.8 oz) and was revealed aboard HMS Warrior in Portsmouth last year. The tea bag measures 2.48 m (8 ft 1.64 in) in length and width.

Candy Miller from Bournemouth takes the title of Oldest Competitive Darts Player, at the age of 91! She plays in the Bournemouth and District Ladies Darts League, in Parkstone.

There’s also Tim Ingram, 91, from Weymouth, the Oldest Newspaper Delivery Person, he’s been delivering papers longer than the Guinness World Record book itself has been around!

Guinness World Records was first published in 1955 and has sold more than 120 million copies to date in over 100 countries. The new edition also includes the highest guinea pig jump, largest Barbie collection and most basketball slam dunks in one minute by a parrot.
