Search For Portsmouth Sex Attacker

Detectives in Portsmouth are appealing for witnesses following a report of a sex assault on a 38-year-old woman on Tuesday, October the 2nd.

The woman was walking south along Hellyer Road, at around 9.30pm when a man asked her the time.

He then pushed the woman against a wall, punched her and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect is described as:

Black man
In his 20s
5ft 4ins-5ft 8ins tall
Slim build
He was wearing a dark hoody, with the hood up, dark bottoms and white trainers

PC Nick Jackson, who is investigating the incident, said:

"We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone who recognises the suspect from the description.

"The victim has been left shocked and upset by this assault.

"Thankfully this is a rare occurrence; however increased police patrols have been put in place to help to reassure the community".
