Ram Raid Attempt At One Stop Shop

Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted ram raid in Sarisbury Green.

The incident happened at 12.20am today (Thursday 1st March) at the One Stop shop in Bridge Road. The target is thought to have been the external cashpoint.
 
The shop’s alarm was triggered when the machine was driven into. A black BMW X5 bearing false registration plates was then seen leaving the scene. 
 
The vehicle sped off towards Southampton and was found abandoned ten minutes later in Cutbush Lane, having crashed into a garden wall.
 
Anyone who witnesses the incident, or who may have seen the vehicle, is asked to call DC Gina Campbell at Fareham and Gosport CID on 101.
