Portsmouth Woman Head-Butts Phone Thief

Police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in Portsmouth.

At around 12.45am on Monday, November 21 the 31-year-old victim was on foot entering Sultan Road, from the direction of Northbrook Close.
 
The victim was approached by a man who asked her for the time.  The victim went to pull her phone out and the suspect then grabbed hold of her arm and tried to steal her phone.  The victim head butted the manin the face and he then released his grip and walked off empty handed.
 
The man police want to speak to is described as:
 
- Black
- Around 5ft 3ins
- Medium build
- With short dreadlocks


Detective Constable Chris Dineage, said:

 “This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim which has left her very shaken. I would ask anyone with information about this man to come forward.


“We will be increasing patrols in the area and as always I would ask residents to take care when out after dark and report any suspicous activity to the police or Crimestoppers.”
