Mystery Poison Causing Dog Deaths

Experts are trying to find the source of a poison which is killing dogs which have been walked in one area of the New Forest.

It's thought at least eight have died so far after cutting their feet at Latchmore Brook near Fordingbridge - they all suffered kidney failure.

Vets are warning owners to keep a close eye on their pets.

One vet's practice has sent samples to America to try and find out what it was.

The Environment Agency issued the following statement:

"The Environment Agency has taken some water samples at the location in Fordingbridge. There were no obvious signs of pollution or sewage in the water course. The samples have been sent for analysis and we will share the results with New Forest District Council and the Forestry Commission."
