Southsea murder Outram Road

It's understood a man murdered in Southsea died from chest injuries after falling from a window.

Officers were called to Outram Road at 8am on Tuesday after the body of a 28-year-old man from Portsmouth was found in the front garden of a property.

The man was confirmed dead at the scene and a post mortem took place later that afternoon.

Police have now named the man as Jamie Patrick Walker, 28, of no fixed address.

They say the investigation to establish the exact circumstances of his death continues. A post mortem examination has shown the cause of death to be chest injuries consistent with a fall from height.

A 28-year-old man from Portsmouth, who was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of murder, has been released on bail until 17 November pending further enquiries.
