The mother of two young brothers arrested on suspicion of their murder after they died within three months of each other has been granted police bail.
Shelley Adams, 26, from Southampton, has been on police bail in connection with the death of her elder son Bradley, who died aged four, since his death in April last year.
She went to police to answer this bail on July the 31st and was arrested again - this time in connection with the death of two-year-old Jayden, who died in January last year - three months before.
A Hampshire Police spokeswoman said: ''The 26-year-old Southampton woman arrested on suspicion of murder of boys, aged two and four, has been bailed, pending further inquiries, until November 2012.''
Bradley was found unconscious at home and his life support machine was switched off in hospital after he failed to respond to treatment.
The circumstances of how Jayden died are not known but it's reported that post-mortem examinations at the time could not determine the cause of death of Bradley or Jayden.
A statement from Hampshire Police released earlier said: ''A 26-year-old Southampton woman was arrested on suspicion of the murder of a two-year-old boy in January, 2011. The arrest came when the woman was due to report for bail on July 31.
''She was arrested originally in April 2011 on suspicion of the murder of a four-year-old boy following his death at Southampton General Hospital in April 2011."
The senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Chris Fitchet, said: ''The second arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into the deaths of two young children.
''At this time, the woman has not been charged with any offence in connection to those deaths.''
