Moped Rider Hurt In Hit And Run

Witnesses appeal after car fails to stop following crash with moped that leaves a man injured.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a moped driver was knocked off his by a vehicle that failed to stop. 

The 49-year-old was riding his moped along Portsmouth Road, Southampton when a silver estate type car went straight across the crossroads with Grange Road in front of his Moped. He was unable to stop and hit the car. The driver of the car though didn’t stop and drove off. 

The rider from Southampton was taken to Southampton General Hospital by ambulance with suspected fractured ribs. 

It happened about 7.05pm on Monday, March 12 and police are now asking for anyone who saw the incident to get in contact with them. It’s known that several vehicles passed by at the time. 

They would ask that the driver of the car contacts that was involved in the crash contacts them direct.
