Men Jump Off Balcony To Escape Police

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 33 year old man was assaulted at a flat in Southampton.

Five men forced their way into the man's flat on Old Redbridge Road in Southampton on Sunday 8th July at about 2am.

The man who lives at the flat was taken to hospital where he was treated and has now been released.

Three of the men were arrested at the scene, a 21-year-old, 24-year-old and a 25-year-old all from Southampton, but two managed to jump off a balcony to escape

Police say that the two men jumped from a third-floor window in order to escape and headed in the Redbridge direction.

Detective Inspector Dave Nealon, who is leading the investigation, said:

"It is believed that the suspects were together in a navy blue-coloured BMW car prior to this offence. Did you see a group of men in such a car?

"I am also particularly interested in hearing from witnesses who know of anyone with any leg or back injuries which may have been sustained during this incident.

"I do wish to stress this type of incident is very rare for this area. Residents should be reassured that we are working around the clock to identify other suspects who have not been arrested. There is no information to suggest that othermembers of the public are at risk."
