Man Charged Over Eastleigh Christmas Party Assault

A man has been charged, three months after an assault on a man at a Christmas party in Eastleigh.

Shortly after 11.30pm on Friday 20 December 2013 a 32-year-old man was attacked at a bar in a marquee at Stoneham Park, Stoneham Lane.

The marquee was being used for Christmas parties for a number of companies based on the South Coast.

The victim was knocked to the floor and punched several times while on the floor causing bruising to his face and potentially permanent damage to one of his eyes. He was also left unconscious.

A man has since been arrested and has now been charged with grievous bodily harm without intent.

27-year-old Paul Long from Cross Road, London has been released on bail and is due to appear before Southampton Magistrates Court on Tuesday 8 April.
