Man Dies After Head-On Crash

A 30-year-old man from Devon has died from his injuries after a car crash in Chichester on Sunday May the 22nd.

John Boeijink of Friars Hele Farm, Meejh, Okehampton, was driving a black Subaru car in Old Broyle Road at 10.20pm when it collided head-on with a blue Audi A3.

The Subaru caught fire as a result, causing damage to another car, a green Peugeot.

He died from his injuries in Southampton General Hospital on Tuesday 24 May.

A total of seven people were taken to hospital that night.

Of the other six, four had serious injuries and one is still in a critical condition in hospital. The 20-year-old man from Stockbridge in Hampshire, who was a passenger in the Subaru, suffered from serious head injuries which are thought to be life-threatening.

A 22-year-old male Subaru passenger from Rowlands Castle, Hampshire, suffered from a broken wrist and has been released from hospital.

A 20-year-old woman Subaru passenger, also from Rowlands Castle, Hampshire, received a serious head injury which is not considered life-threatening.

The fifth Subaru passenger, a 27-year-old man from Chichester, received a broken leg. The driver of the Audi, a 34-year-old man from Chichester, received a broken ankle and the 29-year-old driver of the Peugeot suffered slight injuries.
