Jan Halliday, Director of Marketing & Communications for Southampton Airport, said:
"The start of five new routes and a new operator joining the airport is fantastic news for the region and shows the summer holiday season is really getting underway now.
It is also excellent news for people travelling inbound from our destinations that are increasingly using Southampton Airport to explore the south, and as an easy way to access London, just 66 minutes away by train.
We expect this trend to continue, particularly during the forthcoming Olympics when passengers will have easy and fast access to both the London and Weymouth events via Southampton Airport."
