The family of a Southampton man who died when a car and bus collided have paid tribute to him.

It happened on Lodge Road at the junction with Cedar Road, just before 7.50am on Monday March 21st - a green Daewoo Espero collided with the front offside of a Blue Star double-decker bus.

46 year Stuart Allen, who was driving the car, was killed.
The front seat passenger, a 54-year-old man, was taken to Southampton General Hospital with life threatening injuries where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

The driver of the bus and seven passengers were examined by paramedics.
Mr Allen's family said:
"Stuart was a son, brother, uncle, nephew, Godson and friend that everyone is so proud of. He will be deeply missed."

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash, or anyone who saw either vehicle prior to it, to call Sgt Gabriel Snuggs at Totton Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Fairthorpe.
