Christmas Presents Stolen In Portsmouth

Christmas gifts stolen during Portsmouth burglary.

Police in Portsmouth are appealing for information after children's Christmas gifts were stolen during a burglary at an address in April Square, Portsmouth sometime between 11.15 and 11..45pm on Saturday, November 5.

The occupant, a 36-year-old man, left the property for a short time. While he was out the front door was forced open and entry gained.

The following items were stolen from the address:

* Boys 'Flite' BMX bike, black and white with a 20 inch frame, worth £149

* Girls 'Sonic' mountain bike, pink and purple colour, worth £119

* A brown Nintendo DSi and six games (including Horrid Henry, Super Mario 64, Carnival Games and Titanic)

* Nokia mobile phone

PC Mark Brockman said: "This was a heartless crime, stealing two bikes which were unmade and still in their boxes as they were Christmas presents for the two young children living at the address.

"We would like to speak to anyone who has any knowledge of who may have been involved in this burglary or the location of the stolen property to contact us. Maybe you have purchased it or been offered it for sale without
knowing where it was from?"

Anyone with information should contact PC Brockman in CID at Fratton police station on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
