Case Over Waterlooville Lollipop Man's Death Is Dropped

23 June 2014, 19:02

The case of a woman charged over a lollipop man's death in Waterlooville has been dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service.

It means Lauren Paul won't face a third trial. Two other juries at trials in Portsmouth and Southampton were dismissed.

The 23-year-old from Holly Drive had denied causing Raymond Elsmore's death through careless driving.

Raymond, who was 82, was knocked over by a car in Tempest Avenue in Waterlooville in December 2012.

He had been on duty in full high-vis uniform and carrying his lollipop.
