Parents and teachers at three schools in Southampton are demanding a nearby road is made safer after a car crashed there recently.
It happened on Thursday 17th November 2011, just minutes before classes ended for the day and hundreds of children began making their way home.
Head teacher at Fairisle Junior's, Peter howard said:
"The car apparently came flying down the embankment from the road, landing on its roof on a pathway which many children and parents use to get to and from school every day. If it had happened just minutes later, I dread to think what would have happened - it would have been terrible -a catastrophe."
He's now calling on Southampton City Council to put up some crash barriers or fencing to better protect the area.
"People tell me this isn't the first time something like this has happened here. i've emailed the council and they've assured me they will be investigating and will look at whether they can do anything to remedy the situation. Something needs to be done about it as parents are very worried and rightly so."
Police say a 53-year-old Gosport man was taken to Southampton General Hospital with minor injuries and a 59-year-old woman from Southampton was unhurt in the crash.
