Boiling Water Attack Threat In Southampton

Police investigating a robbery in Southampton where a gang threatened to pour boiling water over a man have made two arrests.

A 44-year-old old man answered a knock at his door, in Canterbury Avenue, at around 8.45pm on Sunday, May 11 and a group of five men and one woman entered his address. 

They threatened him and he was hit with an item concealed in a plastic bag. 

One of the men also boiled a kettle and threatened to pour boiling water on the man and the other occupants. 

The man had several friends in his house at the time of the incident. 

Some of the group searched the house and forced the man to open a small safe. 

They then stole more than a thousands pounds in cash, two passports, an engagement ring and a Vivian Westwood Watch. 

The group left the house and made off in a small blue hatchback car. 

Officers are asking for anyone who may have seen the group in the area before or after the incident to contact them. 

The victim was left very shocked by what had happened.
