Police are looking for two men who sprayed a 20-year-old in the eyes with something and tried to rob him in Southampton.
At about 9.20am, the man was carrying shop takings to his car to deposit them in the post office.
His car was parked in the B&Q Mayfield Road car park. He carried the yellow cash bag across Portswood Road, and, as he climbed steps to the car park, he was approached by two men.
One demanded the money as the other sprayed him in the eyes with an unknown substance.
A struggle followed, but the shop worker managed to keep hold of the cash bag.
The two offenders ran down Mayfield Road, away from B&Q.
The victim was not hurt and soon recovered from stinging eyes from the liquid spray.
The man who demanded the money is described as a 6ft tall Asian who is thin and aged 20-22. His face was partially covered by a black scarf, and he wore a grey hooded zip-up jumper with the hood up, dark trousers or jeans and trainers which may have been white.
Detective Constable Olivia Lucas is appealing for information from anyone who saw the offence, the two offenders sitting behind a wall on the way to the B&Q car park before it happened or anyone who saw them running off down Mayfield Road.
"It was a bright morning, and the area would have busy at that time of day" she said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Lucas at Bitterne CID on 101 or call the anonymous Crimestoppers charity line on 0800 555 111.
