£30,000 Of Jewellery Taken In Burglary

8 April 2011, 11:16

Police are appealing for information after £30,000 worth of jewellery was stolen from a house in Fareham.

It happened in Highlands Road on Wednesday (April 6th).

Between 12pm and 1.15pm someone broke into via the rear door of the property by kicking in the door panels. A home safe containing jewellery was ripped from the wall in an upstairs cupboard and removed by the offenders.

The jewellery in the safe included many rings, necklaces, watches, bangles, earrings and pendants. The total value is thought to be in the region of £30,000.

Additionally, an X Box 360, Acer laptop, Wii console and personal documents were also taken.

Detective Constable Chris Davies said: "This is a high value burglary that has understandably left the victims very upset. If you saw anyone acting suspiciously around the area at the time of the incident, please come forward as soon as possible. Highlands Road is a busy one, so there is a good chance the offenders may have been seen.

"Anyone who has information about those responsible, or has been offered items like the ones above for sale, is asked to get in touch."

Anyone with information should contact Fareham CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
