The classic 47 mile Challenge Ride from Glasgow Green to Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, now in its 16th year, is Pedal for Scotland’s most popular ride. It’s the perfect challenge for both regular cyclists and those who haven’t cycled in a while - a few weeks training is enough to get in shape. There are rest stops around every ten miles serving delicious free refreshments (lots of cake!) topped off with entertainment and activities at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, making for the perfect active day out for groups of friends, family or work mates.

Price: Adults £26, Concessions £16.

The colossal Sportive is a 110 mile ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh, taking riders through the Southern Uplands, incorporating steep climbs and undulating stretches of stunning moorland. The ride uses the same start and finish points as the Challenge Ride, but takes a completely separate route, so you can get the buzz of Scotland’s biggest cycle ride on a quieter route designed specifically for experienced road cyclists. Don’t worry- the Sportive riders don’t get left out when it comes to refreshments, with chocolate, sandwiches, pasta and bananas on offer throughout the route- and all for free!

9 mile Edinburgh Family Ride

The Edinburgh Family Ride provide a fantastic (almost completely traffic-free) route from Kirkliston Leisure Centre to our main event finish at Murrrayfield Stadium, so you can enjoy the experience of crossing the finish line inside Murrayfield with the rest of the freshnlo Pedal for Scotland Challenge and Sportive riders. This leisurely route, ideal for first time cyclists and families, takes riders on a nine mile cycle on closed roads, quiet residential streets and cycle paths.

This fantastic day out is ideal for families, and includes a 4 mile cycle ride followed by an action packed show at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome including Danny MacAskill’s Drop and Roll Show. Suitable for all ages and abilities, the Glasgow Ride will take cyclists on a 4 mile circular route between Emirates Arena and Glasgow Green, making use of the fantastic riverside cycle paths and segregated cycle lanes in the area. Visitors to the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome will have the opportunity to see a range of cycling-based activities and demonstrations, including a unique opportunity to see the legendary Danny MacAskill perform his all new Drop and Roll Show.
