It’s About Who? on Capital Scotland August/Sept 2015

These terms and conditions relate to your application to participate in a search to take part in’ It’s All About You’ and be part of the Capital Scotland Breakfast show. The information given by you in your application may be used in the Programme should you be selected.

APPLICATION RULES

1. The following rules (“Specific Rules”) together with the general competition terms and conditions (which can be found at http://www.capitalfm.com/terms-conditions/) the “Competition Terms and Conditions”) of Communicorp UK (as defined in the Competition Terms and Conditions apply to “It’s About Who?” radio competition (the “Competition") which will run from 06:00 Wednesday 12th August to 12:00 noon on Wednesday 26th August (“the Duration”).  The "Radio Station" is Capital FM Scotland

2. Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have read and accepted the Specific Rules and the Competition Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them.

3. Details of the Application Process: Go online to www.itsaboutwho.com and register their details to be considered to take part in Capital Breakfast with Des & Jennie. Fill out the questionnaire, all questions must be answered to be considered as a participant. Entry will open at 06:00 12th August 2015 and close at 12:00 (noon) on Wednesday 26th August 2015.

4. Applicants will be selected by the Capital Breakfast Producer, based on the following criteria: how entertaining and engaging their online entries are. The Producer’s decision will be final and binding.

5. Applicants will notified by telephone on Wednesday 26th August by 19:00 if they are successful, and will then go forward to take part in the Competition Element.

6. Ten reserve applicants will also be selected and told by telephone by 19:00 on Wednesday 26th August.

COMPETITION RULES - It’s About Who?

7. Entrants (successful Applicants will hereby be referred to as Entrants) will be announced on-air between 29th August – 31st August.

8. 15 Entrants will be selected to participate on-air, a further 10 Entrants will be chosen as back-up should the initial Entrants be disqualified or drop out due to unforeseen circumstances.

9. All Entrants selected to play on air will be required to talk to the presenter(s)/producer (s) and the conversation will be recorded and be played on-air. If the caller fails to answer a return call from Communicorp UK, is driving at the time of the call and is unable to pull over or cannot continue the call for any reason between the dates of 28th August - 18th Sept, the call may be terminated and another Entrant from the back-up group will be selected to replace them for the remainder of the competition.

10. If selected to be part of the Capital Breakfast show, the Entrants will be required to record a 30 second video describing /’selling’ themselves which will be used on the Radio Station’s website and social channels.  This can be filmed on any smart phone, it should be filmed in landscape view (turn your phone so it looks like a TV screen) & the content should be less than 2MB.

Eligibility:

11. Entrants for this have to reside or have their main place of work or are studying within the defined Service Area of Capital FM Scotland.

12. Entrants must be over 18 years of age; able to travel overseas by airplane and hold a valid passport or be eligible to obtain one in time for travel.

13. Entrants may be asked to disclose any previous criminal convictions (in the last 10 years) or outstanding criminal charges.

14. Entrants must have a Full UK Driving License.

15. Entry is restricted to one entry per person; duplicate entries will be removed.

16. Participants must be available between 12:00 noon – 14.30 every day between Friday 28th August and 17th September for a short telephone call which will be recorded and elements used on air as part of the daily rounds.

17. Participants must be available between 07:00 – 11:30 on Friday 18th September at Capital FM Scotland Studios, 4 Winds Pavilion, Pacific Quay, GLASGOW, G51 1EB for the final round on-air. Participants will be required to provide their own transport to and from the above address.

IN PLAY RULES

The following rules (“Rules”) together with Communicorp UK’s ("Communicorp UK") general and  competition terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) (which can be found at www.capitalfm.com apply to ‘It’s About You ’ ("the Competition") which will run from 26TH August to 18th September (“the Duration”).  The "Radio Station" is 105 -106 Capital FM.

1. Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have understood   these Rules along with the Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them.  The Terms and Conditions are available on request from the Radio Station.

 

Details of the Competition:

2. To enter the Competition an Entrant must have been previously selected from the online application process as detailed above.

3. The Entrant will be called by a Capital FM Producer between 12 noon – 2.30pm each day, asked a question which will be recorded and used on-air during the next breakfast show.  The two players whose answers are furthest away from the correct answer will be taken to air ‘live’ during the breakfast show to repeat their answer (they’ll be notified the day of the recording if they’re needed live on breakfast show); once on-air they’ll find out if they remain in the game.  The person with the furthest away answer will be eliminated from the competition.

4. The above will continue until there are two players in the final on Friday 18th September who’ll be required live at the radio station, 4 Winds Pavilion, Pacific Quay, Glasgow, G51 1EB from 7.30 – 11am.

5. In the event of more than two players providing the same answer which is furthest from the correct answer, a tie-break question will also be recorded the previous day and thereafter the two players with the furthest answer will be taken to air live on the next breakfast show.

6. Once we have the final two contestants there will be a first to four, quiz based, finale hosted by Des and Jennie on Friday 18th of September, the winner of which will be awarded all four prizes of their choice. The runner up will be awarded a consolation prize up to the value of £250

7. The entrants must agree to be included in Capital FM and Arnold Clark publicity if and when required, including allowing photographs/videos to be used of winner receiving or taking part in each of their prizes.

 

Eligibility:

8. 18s and over only.

9. Winners and any accompanying persons must hold a valid passport with at least 6 months’ further duration and which contains no visa restrictions on your ability to travel to the relevant destination.  Passport control and in-country authorities reserve the right to refuse entry. If you are refused passage and or entry/exit to or from the country being visited, any additional costs and losses incurred will be your sole responsibility.

10. Winners and any accompanying persons must obtain all visas, permissions and any other documentation required for entering and staying in the destination country.  The Radio Station is not liable for any costs associated with obtaining any such visas, permissions of documentation.  Should the winner not be able to obtain the relevant permissions and visas to travel, the Radio Station reserves the right to award the prize to another entrant.

11. Winners and all accompanying persons are responsible for arranging their own comprehensive travel insurance policy prior to taking up the prize, if not satisfied with the cover provided.

12. Winner must hold a Full UK Driving License.

Prize:

13.  The final winner will receive;

i) THE CAR

One 2015 plate, pre-registered, limited mileage car (model as chosen by the final winner in their initial application process) provided by Arnold Clark from the following list:

  • Fiat 500s 1.2 3dr
  • VW Up 1.0 Take Up 3dr
  • Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 Design 3dr
  • Citroen C1 Feel 3dr
  • Toyota Aygo 1.0 VVT-i X 3dr

The car will have registration plate AC15 WHO and will have 6 months road tax.

Winner will need to liaise with Arnold Clark to attend their relevant dealership to fulfil all ownership documentation before vehicle is released thereafter the car will be available to be picked up by the winner subject to agreement with Arnold Clark.

Insurance is not included and must be arranged by the winner prior to the release of the vehicle.

N.B The images used on the website are for illustration purposes only and might not be the exact colour and model received by the winner.  The winner will not be able to choose the colour or design specifications of the car.

ii)THE HOLIDAY

18. Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have read and accepted the Specific Rules and the Competition Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them.

Details of the Competition:

19. To enter the Competition an Entrant must Go online to www.capitalfm.com/itsaboutwho.com and register their details.  Online entry will open at 10:00 on Tuesday 1st September and close at 23:59 on Sunday 13th September.

20. Entrants should select who they want to back and enter their details on the form.

All entrants who back the final winner will be collated and 1 person will be selected at random to win £1000 from Capital FM Scotland. 

(The final winner of the It’s About Who competition will be announced on-air on Friday 18th September; the final decision will be made by the station and the level of online support for any contestant will not be taken into account and have no influence in the overall outcome).

21. The winner will be told via email or telephone call by 17:00 on Friday 25th September 2015

Winner’s choice of Night Out with Friends:

Dinner and drinks

  1. Travel is subject to availability at the discretion of the organiser and excludes Christmas, New Year, Valentines, Easter, School Holidays and Bank Holidays (UK).
  2. Private transfers to the restaurant will be supplied by the client.
  3. Dinner is based on four adults enjoying a 5 course meal from the dinner set menu including ½ bottle of house wine, mineral water and coffee each. A bottle of champagne will be included before dinner in the restaurant’s lounge area. All participants must be 18 years or over. Restaurant reservations are subject to availability at the time of booking.
  4. Travel contribution for the return journey will be provided.
  5. All prizes must be claimed and booked by the prize winner within 12 months from the date of our initial correspondence with them.

 

Karaoke & Cocktails

  1. Travel is subject to availability at the discretion of the organiser and excludes Christmas, New Year, Valentines, Easter and Bank Holidays (UK).
  2. Private transfers to the restaurant will be supplied by the client.
  3. Cocktail making session will last approx. 1 hour and includes alcohol therefore all participants must be 18 years or over. Meal is based on six adults enjoying a three course meal from the set menu including a small glass of wine each. Karaoke booth will be available for 3 hours. A £300.00 bar tab will be provided, further drinks will be at the winner’s own expense. Entrance to the venue cannot be guaranteed and is at the doorman’s discretion, people must be aged over 21 and over.  Passport ID may be required.
  4. Travel contribution for the return journey will be provided.
  5. All prizes must be claimed and booked by the prize winner within 12 months from the date of our initial correspondence with them.

 

VIP clubbing

  1. Travel is subject to availability at the discretion of the organiser and excludes Christmas, New Year, Valentines, Easter and Bank Holidays (UK).
  2. Private transfers to the restaurant will be supplied by the client.
  3. VIP night out will be for 8 adults and  include door entry, private table with 2 x bottles of vodka, 1 x bottle of champagne and mixers. Further drinks will be at the cost of the winner at venue prices.  Entrance is based on a right of admission reserved policy.  Entrance to the venue cannot be guaranteed and is at the doorman’s discretion, people must be aged over 21 and over.  Passport ID may be required.
  4. Travel contribution for the return journey will be provided.
  5. The Arcadia Group gift card can only be redeemed in participating Arcadia Brands’ stores in the UK and on the Arcadia Brands’ pound Sterling websites. It cannot be used in Arcadia Brands’ concessions in third party department stores. This card cannot be refunded, exchanged for cash or gift cards or used to settle Arcadia Account Card balances. Any balance may be applied to future purchases, this card will expire if it has not been used or topped-up for 24 consecutive months. Any balance remaining will be reduced to nil and forfeited. The Arcadia Brands are Burton, Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Miss Selfridge, Outfit, Topshop, Topman and Wallis.
  6. All prizes must be claimed and booked by the prize winner within 12 months from the date of our initial correspondence with them.

 

Ultimate Night In

  1. Should these products be unavailable at the time of purchase for the winner, the NDL Group reserves the right to substitute with an alternative of equal or greater value.  Specifications are subject to change from the manufacturer without notice.
  2. DVD selection excludes Blu-Ray DVDs, boxsets and 3D DVDs.
  3. Takeaway is based on four people enjoying a two course takeaway with drinks of the winner’s choice. Excludes all alcoholic drinks. 
  4. All prizes will be delivered within 28 working days from the date that NDL receives confirmation of the delivery address from the winner..

 

Adrenaline Rush

  1. Travel is subject to availability at the discretion of the organiser and excludes Christmas, New Year, Valentines, Easter and Bank Holidays (UK).
  2. Private transfers to the restaurant will be supplied by the client.
  3. Go Karting experience will last the duration of approx. 30 minutes. All guests must be aged 16 or over to participant. Restrictions apply; minimum group size needs to be 8. Adult kart drivers must be 13 years old and above be at least 1.5 metres tall. Please note that waivers for drivers under the age of 16 years old must be signed by a consenting adult. Drivers must wear closed toe footwear. Open toe footwear and high heels are not permitted. Drivers will not be permitted on track without appropriate footwear. All race equipment including race suits, helmets and gloves will be provided. All kart drivers are required to wear an Experience Balaclava each time they race, which can be purchased from reception. No alcohol must be consumed at least 12 hours prior to the commencement of karting. No individual must be in possession of any alcohol or bring any onto the premises. All motorsport is dangerous. Karting is not suitable for people with heart problems, back problems, weak joints, pregnant women, people who suffer from epilepsy, fits, blackouts, fainting spells or giddiness or any form of psychiatric or mental illness. Laser experience will last the duration of approx. 30 minutes. Minimum age is 6 years olds.
  4. Meal is based on 8 adults enjoying a three course meal from the a la carte menu including mineral water and coffee at the venue’s restaurant.
  5. 10. Travel contribution for the return journey will be provided.
  6. 11. All prizes must be claimed and booked by the prize winner within 12 months from the date of our initial correspondence with them.
