United Win First Dundee Derby In 7 Years

Dundee United cruised to a 3-0 win over their neighbours from across the road, Dundee.

More than 13,500 crammed into Tannadice to see Jon Daly open the scoring, before a brace from Jonny Russell sealed a comfortable win.

Russell and Dundee captain, Stephen O'Donnell, were both sent off for clashing in the second half.

Elsewhere in the SPL this weekend Hearts blew a 2 goal lead at home to 10-man Inverness and had to settle for a draw.

Hibs picked up their first win of the season away at St Mirren, Aberdeen beat St Johnstone 2-1 in Perth, Kilmarnock lost by the same score at home to Motherwell and Celtic could only draw with Ross County in the highlands.
