Teenager Stabbed In Paisley Street Attack

A young man has suffered serious stab wounds in a violent street attack.

Police were called to a disturbance involving four men in Paisley at around 8.15am on Sunday.

They found the 19-year-old victim had been stabbed during the attack in Ferguslie Park Avenue and he was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Medical staff say he is in a serious but stable condition.

Officers are treating the assault as an attempted murder and say their inquiries are at an early stage.

The scene was cordoned off as police carried out door-to-door inquiries and collected CCTV footage from the area.

Detective Constable Andy McKay said: "A young man has been violently attacked and it's imperative we trace whoever is responsible.

"I'm sure there are people in the local community who either heard or witnessed the attack and I am appealing to them to contact us.

"If you have any information whatsoever concerning this attack, or any knowledge as to who is responsible, then please do come forward and speak to us.''
