Man Arrested After Merchant City Rape

A man has been arrested after a woman was allegedly raped in a city centre basement.

The 24-year-old woman was allegedly seriously sexually assaulted in a basement area in Brunswick Street, Glasgow, at around 1.25am on Sunday.

Police Scotland said a 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
