Labour Call Government Over College Fund

Labour will quiz the government in parliament today over the College funding crisis.

First Minister Alex Salmond apologised to MSPs last week, admitting that he quoted the wrong figure for college budgets.

He had told MSPs that resource funding for colleges was £545 million in 2011-12 and £546 million in 2012-13.

However, he explained the figure of £545 million for last year did not take into account changes to the budget and should have been £555.7 million, meaning college spending has fallen more than £9 million this year.
